This page is the Home Page of the
Physiology laboratories of Drs. Jeffrey Omens and Francisco Villarreal. This
laboratory has been housed on the Second Floor of the BasicScienceBuilding (Rooms 2003 -
2008) since the Building opened for research in 1969. The laboratories are
equipped for physiologic studies in a wide spectrum of preparations ranging
from isolated mouse hearts to conscious large animals, and are equipped to
monitor flows, pressures, dimensions, radiographic images and electrical
activity. This laboratory is one of only handful of facilities on the west
coast equipped for high speed biplane radiography of laboratory animals.
Extensive facilities are available for real time data acquistion, analysis and
image processing. For information on the use of the laboratory contact one of
the laboratory faculty. Links to program faculty are provided from this page
and from the School of Medicine , Department of Bioengineering, Department of Pharmacology, and Training Grant
webpages.
